| | Very nice usable image, I used the Neumann KM184 with a blend of 50/50 with a Taylor 810ce with a Fishman Prefix Blender on a live TV show with in ear system, very rich sound, I'm very pleased !!!! JoeCook/AlanJackson.
Admin Notes: Great feedback. We are happy it worked out well for you!

| | Tried this out with a D-16RGT (mahogany B&S instead of sapele) with a Fishman AG-series passive pickup. Sounded okay, but the high end was funny - squashed and nasal. Found the SPD-16 sound image worked much better... see my comments there
Admin Notes: Note: This is a good example of how you may not get a good match with Images made from a different model and wood type guitar.

| | Oops - Joe, could you make a correction for me? I meant a D-16GT, not RGT (mahogany, not rosewood). I also meant the D-16GT for my twin comment in the SPD-16 section! It's an important difference... It's also why I was surprised the D-16 image didn't sound very good... sorry!

| | Also Joe, isn't the Taylor 710 that you added an image for a couple of weeks ago Engelmann spruce and not cedar top? The cedars are the 714's. Unless this was some kind of custom? PS You might think I'm kind of a geek for bothering to post these comments, but honestly I'm so impressed by the Aura that I like the idea of helping out! That and I need to procrastinate.
Admin Notes: Hey Sandcastle,
I checked and it is a Cedar Top. As fellow geeks, we welcome the comments!! Keep them coming.

| | Tried out the KM184 patch on my Larrivee D-03 with the LR Baggs element notch system, and the results I'm getting are quite nice. Still haven't really found a usable one for recording, though, as my guitar kind of has an uneven resonance that produces feedback.

| | Thanks for the advice on using this patch with my 1961 D18...Most of the sounds really weren't quite right, but the DPA 4011? Lovely....It's now sounding like the guitar when it's amplified, which is all that I wanted...Would still love to try an actual D18 sample though if you are planning on doing one? All the best...
